A first for Quailhurst and a vintage previously produced by only a few others in Oregon. A white wine from red grapes creates opportunity; we pressed gently and opened new doors. Our Pommard Pinot Noir was used to make this slightly peach-colored, golden hued wine which expresses a diverse set of varietal characters similar to floral viognier, tropical Pinot Blanc, and bright citrus Riesling. Luxurious aromas of white peach, floral apricot and vanilla flow into flavors of tropical, rich, guava and banana all tied off with a clean, crisp, long finish. Barrel ageing in 17% new French oak has added toasty toffee and subtle butterscotch characters in addition to making a full body and soft texture.
